Meetings

June 14, 2010

This meeting is first after Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC) and we'll be talking about iOS 4.0 and the new iPhone 4. If you haven't yet heard all the details, come on by and we'll cover it all and we'll answer any questions you might have about where this is all going.

We'll also have our usual round up of cool iPad, iPhone and Mac OS X apps and portable goodies along with some time for some Q&A time.

Our meeting this month will be at the same location as last month. We thank Jan Chesne for allowing us to use the rec room at her townhome.

Here are the directions:

Address: 2700 Pearl St. in Santa Monica (Pearl & 27th).

27th St. going south from Pico ends in the entrance to the complex (In front it says Village Park Townhomes).  Go in the entrance, turn right, go over 2 speed bumps (street curves to the left) and park in the parking spaces or anywhere along the road where it doesn't say "No parking."  The rec room is across the road from the parking spaces and slightly south.  The rec room is off Unit 60 (please don't bother any of the residents).

May 10, 2010

As we mentioned at the last few meetings, our stay at Ground Zero is now over as they have closed up shop.  But, Jan Chesne, one of our long-time LAPUG members, has graciously stepped up to the plate and has offered us use of the rec room at her townhome complex.  It'll be a little different as there won't be WiFi available so bring your own broadband cards (if you have them -- this IS a portable computing user group after all. <grin>).

This month, we'll continue to focus on the iPad and it's syncing capabilities with the Mac. We'll review the new WiFi + 3G model and we'll show off some great new apps (both function, practical and fun!). We have a new camera system to project the iPad's display for all to see and we'll see how that works out.

In addition, the new AT&T 3G Microcells are now available and we'll talk about how they work and how they can be setup in your home to give phenomenal reception.

As usual, we'll also have some time for some Q&A so bring your iPad, iPhone & Mac OS X questions and we'll have a great time!
